Desert Cool

And by cool, I mean literally cool temperatures. It was so cold in Palm Springs that we actually saw snow on the ground one morning (in the desert!? madness). We didn’t get to do many of our favorite outdoor activities like we had hoped. I could complain about the rain and cold, blistery winds all post long, but we found ourselves not being able to plan much of anything and doing things on a whim which was refreshing.

The highlight of the trip was getting to see the top three tennis players in the world compete at the Indian Wells tennis tournament. When my boyfriend and I started dating, somehow I inherited some of his love for tennis (he acquired some of my joy for shopping). Getting to see our two favorite players (Rafael Nadal – I’m sure you have seen his dreamy Armani ads and Roger Federer – bff with Anna Wintour and often in Vogue ) play each other for the first time was exhilarating. Anna Wintour was actually there in Roger Federer’s box.  She was easy to spot thanks to her signature black sunglasses at night and perfectly coiffed bob.

Here’s a quick clip of one of the match’s points. These guys are in such insane shape and hit the ball so hard!

A few other photos of the beautiful scenery, filled with rolling hills, palm trees and menacing clouds with blue skies peeking through.

Happy first day of spring! I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for warmer, summer-y days.
