Golden Globes 2012 Best Dressed

The Golden Globes red carpet brought out a full range of fashion trends hot on the spring and pre-fall runways. Last night, bold, daring choices paid off and made for an exciting display of fashion. The big colors of the night were nude hues, jewel tones, particularly blue, shades of red and black and white. Dress trends included, mermaid and fishtail gowns, cutout backs, sky-high slits and low v-neck fronts. Headpieces worn by Michelle Williams and Charlize Theron are sure to be a big accessory and hair trend.

Here are my 12 favorite looks of the night:

Charlize Theron was stunning in blush Dior and a vintage Cartier headpiece. Hands down my favorite of the night.

Rooney Mara in Nina Ricci. The details of this dress, namely the geometric cutouts, made it a head turner.

Julianna Margulies in purple Naeem Khan. Love the dress color and sheen paired with the bright green earrings.

Being married to the president of LVMH clearly has its perks. Salma Hayek was flawless in Gucci.

Claire Danes in J. Mendel. The graphic black and white dress fit her perfectly.

Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang. This dress was gorgeous with its color, shape and movement from structured top to flowing bottom.

Angelina Jolie (who looked especially good along side of Brad Pitt) in Atelier Versace. The pops of red on her lips, collar and clutch made this look a winner.

Michelle Williams in Jason Wu. She looked adorable in this bold, printed dress.

Emma Stone in Lanvin. An unconventional, but beautiful dress and belt.

Kate Beckinsale looked jaw-dropping in this form-fitting Roberto Cavalli.

Reese Witherspoon looked lovely in red Zac Posen. Her loose waves made the look a little more cool.

Tilda Swinton in Haider Ackerman. Tilda is quite the avant garde fashion genius. This frosty, pale blue dress and jacket suited her well.

    Those are great choices.
Now here are the top 3 WORST dressed:
    Sarah Michelle Gellar
    Jessica Biel
    Meryl Streep

  2. ahhh no mention of evan rachel wood? i looooved her in her dragon dress.

    • Hi Amanda! I know, I really debated including Evan Rachel. The dress was gorgeous, I just didn’t like how low it was on her in the front. Plus, her hair (mainly color) and makeup were not my fave. I probably still should have included because the dress is pretty insane. Thanks for calling me out! xx
